Derpasaurus Rex was a simple idea. An obliviously overenthusiastic dinosaur that means well, but crushes all in its path. Working with Noah Scammon for writing and voice acting, I spent some time figuring out what style I wanted to work with. We wanted the dinosaur to be an outcast, so he’s shaded and fully colored which contrasts with the world’s simple and sloppy coloring. Essentially, we started writing a basic scenario like going to the doctors and then tossed in a hyperactive talking dinosaur and thought, “What could possibly go wrong?”
